Project Background

With the rise of Internet finance and the advent of the era of big data, data has become increasingly valued, and digital operation has become a major trend. As a specialized institution engaged in financial business, the bank is constantly expanding its business scope driven by the digital wave. At the same time, it is also facing the problems of how to implement business standards and data standards into specific application systems; how to standardize the data quality of application systems; and manage the metadata of application systems uniformly.
In order to comprehensively improve the bank's data governance capabilities, the Bank of Chongqing commissioned Beiming Software to build a data governance management and control platform consisting of three data management tools, including data quality, data standards, and metadata. Through the platform, the Bank of Chongqing strengthens the data management of the whole bank, coordinates and guides the data management work at all levels from the perspective of the enterprise, establishing a harmonious relationship between people, data and systems, and ensuring that all personnel within the bank can access appropriate data support and services at the right time and in the sound environment.

Project Brief

According to the construction idea of data transformation, the data governance project of the Bank of Chongqing focuses on data governance, ETL, service openness, data security and other application scenarios to build data centers, organically integrates the collection, processing, storage, control, analysis and other functions of the data infrastructure platform. In addition, it customizes the features of the basic platform according to the functions provided by the bank's memory system and the existing data architecture, providing a reliable and business-independent "collection-processing-storage-management-distribution" solution that supports business applications with extensive information resources.

The data governance project of the Bank of Chongqing takes digital transformation as a critical support for development and builds a comprehensively digital and intelligent management system. It deeply integrates digital innovation achievements with the goals of serving the real economy, practicing inclusive finance, strengthening risk management, etc., and realizes the transformation from data management, and data governance to data asset management. In terms of data, the project integrated data standards, metadata, and data quality processes to achieve data standardization and inspection; at the technical level, the project applied the management process of the financial industry to data governance; at the implementation level, the project has accumulated rich experience in banking data standards, metadata, and data quality refinement.

Implementation Value (Achievements)

1.Realizing Data Aggregation
The project aggregated the front-, middle- and back-end data, incorporated 29,786 metadata items from 17 business systems under management, sorted out 1,395 standard information items, 372 public codes, and configured 1,745 quality rules, providing accurate, reliable, and consistent data for comprehensive risk management and control, business innovation, and decision-making reports.
2. Building a Data Management System
By comprehensively data, applications, and systems, the project builds a standardized, process-oriented, automated, and integrated data management system to ensure a reasonable data architecture, organized, controllable processes, and knowledge accumulation and transmission.
3. Establishing an Operation Platform for the Data Center
The project helps users establish a data center operations platform. At the system architecture level, a new "data operating system" layer has been built to enable a historic leap of data management from DOS to Windows.
