Project Background

To meet the requirements of national strategy and the new management system of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Changjiang Shipping proposed the "131" smart Yangtze River construction path to promote the informatization of Yangtze River shipping. However, at present, Changjiang Shipping’s management system is faced with problems such as scattered data, low information sharing, difficulty in obtaining data, and inconsistent information service platforms, which restrict the improvement of decision-making and comprehensive information service capabilities. Therefore, Changjiang Shipping initiated the data center project, involving the construction of a data resource platform, a data resource management system, and the improvement of the application support environment. The data center will become the core platform connecting the "cloud" and "end", promoting information exchange, sharing and business collaboration, improving management, supporting the digitization of Yangtze River’s shipping, and ultimately increasing the efficiency of shipping services in the region.

Project Brief

The Yangtze River Shipping Data Center Project is a crucial foundation for the future development of Yangtze River shipping informatization. The project builds a Yangtze River shipping data resource platform and database architecture, constructs a data resource governance, a shared management system, and an integrated Yangtze River shipping information service system. It integrates the channels for government information resource convergence and exchange for the administration’s system, provides data services and exchange support for the Yangtze River shipping business, supports data sharing for the coordination of Yangtze River’s water affairs, and offers one-stop services for port shipping enterprises and the public.

Implementation Value (Achievements)

The Yangtze River Shipping Data Center Project has built a data resource platform and database architecture, set up a system of data resource governance, exchange and sharing, and built an integrated information resource service system. The completion of the project ensures the realization of the "131" smart Yangtze River construction path and the implementation of the key informatization tasks for the Changjiang Shipping during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It achieved the development goals of the digital Yangtze River phase, and provided robust support for the narrative of the "Yangtze River Chapter" of building a transportation powerhouse. The project was established by Changjiang Shipping as a benchmark project for quality engineering.
